Williamsburg's Masten Lake Closes After Seven Months

Sad news from Williamsburg this afternoon: the owner of ambitious Bedford Avenue restaurant Masten Lake tells Eater that his seven month-old spot is now closed. "We just reached a point where we couldn't sustain it any more," owner David Rosen says, "We tried hard and made some mistakes along the way but I'm proud of what we've done and Angelo will find continued success." That Angelo is chef Angelo Romano, a Roberta's vet who won over the restaurant's fans with some inventive dishes and esoteric plating.

Rosen says it's too early to tell whether his team will keep the space or if new owners will take over.
