NOHO— Noho veteran Five Points just got a new chef, Ricky King. King began as the chef at sister restaurant Hundred Acres and is now the executive chef for both restaurants. He was brought over, owner Marc Meyer says, because "we're a growing restaurant and he's a growing chef" and they "believe he is more than a one store chef." [EaterWire]
MEATPACKING DISTRICT— Pitchers of margaritas will be half off ($24) at Spice Market on Wednesday, February 22 in honor of what is apparently National Margarita Day. [EaterWire]
MIDTOWN— Midtown Lunch notices that the shipping container food cart in Times Square, Snack Box, was recently closed by the Department of Health for racking up 66 violation points. [ML]
EAST VILLAGE—DBGB is once again offering whole pig dinners for groups of 8 or less. $495 gets the group pig's head pate and a whole roasted suckling pig stuffed with pork, bacon, and apples served alongside ham gratin, sauerkraut, brussel sprouts, fingerling potatoes, and to finish, baked Alaska. $200 extra gets everyone beer pairings.
