1) Murray Hill: Bad news for Bostonians: the longtime Boston sports bar in Murray Hill, Hairy Monk, has passed on to that Fenway Park in the sky. [DNAinfo]

2) West Village: By all accounts, Lyon Bouchon Moderne appears to be shuttered for good, but not because of Hurricane Sandy. Grub Street suspects this is the case, and several tipsters have emailed to say that it is indeed done. Owner Francois Tatapie left the restaurant this summer.
