No More Booze Blues!

2012_12_boozejoycumo.jpgGovernor Cuomo's office shot down the State Health Department's plans to raise taxes on alcohol sales and restrict the number of bars and liquor stores in New York. This quick reversal comes just one day after news leaked that the Health Department would be recommending this and other measures to reduce the impact of binge drinking in the state, with a representative from the Health Department saying "the governor doesn't support raising this tax, or the other measures." Huzzah! [NYP]
