Ivan Ramen: it's coming. Details started coming out last week about New York-born ramen impresario Ivan Orkin's much-anticipated shop, with the location confirmed at 25 Clinton St on the Lower East Side. Orkin goes in front of the SLA committee for Manhattan's CB 3 next month, to get the necessary liquor license to operate there.
Bowery Boogie takes a look at the application materials for that meeting, passing on a number of additional details from the app. Most if it confirms what Orkin told Flo Fab last week: the 60-seat restaurant will have 15 tables in the dining room, a long bar in front, and a 14-seat noodle counter in the back.
And then, oh yes, there's the sample menu.
In the sample, most of the bowls of ramen go for $14, like the classic shio with pork belly and the vegetarian ramen. The ago dashi ramen goes for $16. There's also a handful of snacks like crispy fried ramen, hand rolls, and meatballs, and three donburi options:
