Here, now, is the very first installment of The Sandy Chronicles, a brand new Eater web series tracking restaurants that were affected by Hurricane Sandy as they rebuild and reopen. This series focuses on three restaurants: Home/Made in Red Hook, Barbarini Alimentari in the Seaport, and Almondine in Dumbo. The fates of these restaurants are unclear at this point: the owners of Home/Made hope to reopen this week, the co-owners of Alimentari want to reopen in another space, and Almondine owner Hervé Poussot just put his Park Slope bakery up for rent while he rebuilds the Dumbo space. This is an ongoing series — Eater will continue to track these three restaurants on camera until their post-Sandy stories have been told. Hit play on the video above to see Episode 1: The Road to Recovery.
