Sohui Kim on Rebuilding The Good Fork in Red Hook

Last week, the Eater video team visited The Good Fork in Red Hook to chat with chef/restaurateur Sohui Kim. Like many businesses on Van Brunt Street, the restaurant is still closed because of damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. In the clip above, she notes: "What people haven't heard is what a long process this whole thing is?It happened a month and a half ago, and in some people's minds, it's already fading."

So far, fans of the Good Fork donated over $50,000 to help get the restaurant back on its feet. If everything goes according to plan, Sohui and husband/business partner Ben Schneider hope to reopen the restaurant for New Year's Eve. Hit play on the video to hear about her experience after the storm.
