Ben & Jack's Steakhouse to Shutter, Will Return in 2015

New, 1 comment

Another steakhouse is about to bite the dust: Crain's reports that the Ben & Jack's Steakhouse on 44th Street is shuttering at the end of this month because its building is getting torn down to make way for a hotel. It's not all bad, though, because once that hotel goes up in a couple of years, B&J will get to return, albeit in a brand new space. Its owners don't even need to pay rent on the space until the hotel actually opens in 2015, rather than when construction begins in 2014.

Ben & Jack's Steakhouse was originally opened back in 2005 by a family of Peter Luger alumni: Jack and Russ Sinanaj and their cousin Ben Sinanaj. They've since opened another location on Fifth Avenue and one in Scottsdale, Ariz., both of which will continue to operate. The guys hope to get as much of the staff from the 44th Street location into those other two. So Ben & Jack's Steakhouse staff, looking to relocate to the Phoenix area? Now's your chance.
