Bushwick Soup Pop-Up; Lunch Launches at Le Philosophe

BUSHWICK ? A chowder and soup pop-up called Sip's Soups is hanging out at the Bushwick bar Cobra Club tonight. Starting at 7 p.m., the pop-up will have finnan haddie for $5 and vegan stew for $3. [Grub Street]

NOHO ? Le Philosophe, the new French restaurant on Bond Street, is now open for lunch and brunch after opening just for dinner back in November. The lunch entrées run from the Berkshire pork belly sandwich for $15 to a grilled flat iron steak for $26, and there's an $18 prix fixe. [EaterWire]

BOOK CLUB — Author G.E. Butler just released a novel that's set partly in the New York restaurant world. Called Soul'd Out, the book follows a 20-something entertainer who "discovers the ghastly price exacted for worldwide fame."
