It's official: after a rubber stamp from City Council today, the Rainbow Room will finally be a landmark. The legendary art deco restaurant at the top of 30 Rock was given the status by the Landmark Preservation Commission this fall and got unanimous approval from the Council's Land Use Committee yesterday, setting the stage for a new operator to finally revive the historic restaurant.
