When: Today, 9 p.m.
Where: Louro
What: Um Segredo's Dave Santos will team up with BOND Strategy and Influence, IFC Films, and Sundance Selects to host a culinary tribute to Jack Kerouac's On The Road. The meal will feature a five-course tasting menu influenced by the events, characters, and locations of the novel (and the upcoming film), as well as three cocktails that Kerouac himself would have loved. Tickets to the Jack Kerouac-inspired dinner are $95.

When: Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Brooklyn Brewery
What: The 2012 season of the Food Experiments comes to a close this weekend with one final cook-off. Tomorrow, Theo Peck and Nick Suarez will bring the winners from each of the 20 cities together to compete for culinary glory in the National Championship. Each chef will submit his ultimate best bite, cooking up everything from chili to dumplings to pie. The audience will help judges pick the big winner. Tickets are $45 and include unlimited beer. A portion of the proceeds will go towards local charities supporting culinary education for disadvantaged children and teens.

When: Sunday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: The Bell House
What: The Bell House is hosting its annual cookie takedown, where guests will sample 30 different cookie creations made by amateur bakers and vote for their favorites. There will also be free eggnog from Bulleit Bourbon. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online.

When: Today, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Ngam
What: This afternoon, Ngam's chef Hong Thaimee will divulge the secrets behind her delicious Thai sweets, just in time for all that holiday baking. During this hands-on cooking class at her East Village restaurant, Chef Hong will share some of her recipes, tips, and tricks, as well as some info about her favorite spices. Tickets are $70.

When: Today, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Amnesia NYC
What: This event is for the cheese lovers because, well, it's a celebration of all things cheese. Specially selected vendors and chefs will offer samples of various sweet and savory cheese-based dishes, and a selection of red and wine wine pairings will be available as well.Mia Chef Gelateria will conduct a special gelato-making demo and will give out tastes of its cheesecake gelato. Tickets range from $25 to $65, depending on the number of tastes and sips you want.
