Space Is the Place

2012_12_space50thstreetsm.jpgThe planned New York outpost of the popular nightclub Space cleared a major hurdle last night when the Community Board unanimously approved its liquor license application. The club has signed a lease for a building on West 50th Street that can house more than 1,200 people, and the owners are promising to build a taxi stand to make transportation easy. The building had previously been the planned location for the New York outpost of the U.K. based club Sankeys, but that project was never able to get off the ground. [DNAinfo]
