Take a Look Around Scandinavian Sensation Aska

New, 29 comments

[Daniel Krieger]

Here are some photos of Aska, the Williamsburg restaurant that all the cool kids are going to right now. Agyness Deyn is probably enjoying a cocktail there right this very second. Kyp from T.V. on the Radio will stop by later. That guy is everywhere.

During the day, the space is a coffee shop and design studio, and at night, it's a bar and restaurant serving unusual cocktails from Eamon Rockey and Scandinavian fare from chef Fredrik Berselius. The food here is similar to what Berselius cooked at his Frej pop-up. Early menus included mackerel with "soured cream," pork ribs with rutabaga, and an upside-down piece of broccoli with seaweed and mussel emulsion. Aska is open seven days a week, but a $65 six-course tasting menu is also available Sunday through Thursday (make a reservation online). Take a look at the space above, and do send any early reports our way.
