HURRICANE SANDY WIRE — A group of New Yorkers that work in the restaurant industry created an online campaign called Dine Out NYC. From the group's Facebook page: "#DineoutNYC is a movement to motivate people to dine out in restaurants throughout NYC in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. This movement helps restaurant operators and their employees get back to work and helps diners learn about where to dine out in New York City." Follow @dineoutnyc to keep track of restaurant openings, and use #dineoutnyc to spread the word. And, for a list of food-related Sandy relief organizations, head to Dineoutnyc.org. WEST VILLAGE ? Located up on the West Side Highway, The Rusty Knot took on about a foot and a half of flooding during Hurricane Sandy. The bar's now back up and running with its slate of parties in full swing, starting tonight with the weekly viewing party for Ru Paul's Drag Race at 9 p.m. [EaterWire]
BOURDAIN WIRE ? The very last ever episode of Anthony Bourdain's Travel Channel show No Reservations airs tonight with a trip to Brooklyn. Here's Bourdain on the importance of Brooklyn: "What's happening culinarily in Brooklyn is impacting Paris. The fact that I don't know what they're talking about was a liability that had to be fixed. I figured it's only right to complete the circle, go back home and explore the last unexplored territory in my own city." And here's the future CNN star taking to Eatocracy to remind everyone that eating out and tipping well right now is "not charity. It's just neighborly." [NYP, Eatocracy]
