Boston's Otto to Deliver 600 Pizzas to the Rockaways

Here's another act of kindness in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy: Early this morning, employees of Otto Pizza in Boston and Portland, Maine (no affiliation with Mario Batali's Otto) got to work baking up over 600 pizzas to be transported by truck directly to the Sandy-stricken Rockaways. Co-owner Anthony Allen on the motivation behind the grand gesture: "We heard and saw that New Yorkers were in dire straits, and hungry to boot. We can't rebuild houses but we can, at least, feed a few thousand people some hot pizza. That's why we're doing it: because we can."

The truck, full of pizza, water, and other forms of relief, is expected to arrive at 12-05 Cross Bay Blvd in Howard Beach between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. TODAY. To track the truck and receive updates, follow the pizzeria on Twitter.
