Myron Mixon to Open Restaurant in Lucky Cheng's Space

Last month, the team from Indochine and Acme applied for a liquor license in the former Lucky Cheng's space, with plans for a new restaurant. But now, the Post reports that a new operator is moving in. Myron Mixon, the star of TLC's BBQ Pitmasters, is planning a barbecue restaurant at 24 First Ave. EV Grieve notes that Mixon applied for a liquor license for the space under the name Pride and Joy BBQ. Mixon opened a location of Pride and Joy in Miami earlier this year, so presumably, this will be another branch of that concept.

Hayne Suthon, the restaurateur behind Lucky Cheng's, still owns the building with her family. Ms. Suthon tells the Post: "It was very important to me to keep a restaurant tenant, but we didn't want a bottle-service tenant." Earlier this year, Suthon moved her restaurant to a new location in Midtown.
