Lowcountry, the West Village Southern restaurant by Didier Palange and Kiwon Standen, quietly closed a few weeks ago. A couple of years after converting the space from Bar Blanc to Lowcountry, the partners have now teamed up with David Santos, fresh off the success of his Kickstarter campaign, to turn it into Louro. This is the full-service restaurant born out of the Hotel Griffou and 5 & Diamond vet's supper club Um Segredo. With the renovations just about complete, Flo Fab says it should soft open this Saturday, December 1.
The restaurant will be open for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, but on Monday nights Santos will offer a supper club inspired by Um Segredo called Nossa Mesa ("Our Table"). Reservations for these can be made by email. Here's the schedule for the first month's worth:
· December 3, Black & White Truffle Dinner
· December 10, Ocean's Bounty Dinner
· December 17, Vegtastic Dinner
· December 24, Special, Christmas Eve Menu
· December 31, Special New Year's Eve Menu
· Gastroarte Becomes Andanada 141 and Other Restaurant Openings [NYT]
· All Coverage of David Santos [~ENY~]
· All Coverage of Lowcountry [~ENY~]
