Five Leaves Donating all of Today's Profits to Sandy Relief

[Will Femia, 9/17/08]

Greenpoint favorite Five Leaves was not affected by Hurricane Sandy. The restaurant reopened the day after the storm, and it's been packed ever since. Now, owner Kathy Mecham sends word that her team will be giving one hundred percent of today's profits to a local Hurricane Sandy relief fund. The restaurant is open all day long. The pancakes are stellar at Five Leaves, and the weather is perfect for shepherd's pie, which is currently on the menu. Or just oysters and cocktails after work — that's a great people-watching spot, especially those outdoor tables.
