McCormack's Irish Pub, NY Perks, and More Shutter

If you buy something from an Eater link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics policy.

1) Kips Bay: The longtime Irish bar McCormack's on Third Avenue in Kips Bay is no more. Over on McCormack's website, there's a list of the world events from the 19 years and 11 months the bar was open, including this gem: "When we closed we could legally serve someone who was 13 months old when we opened." [Official Site]

2) Carroll Gardens: The clubby, kind-of-weird lounge on Smith Street, NY Perks, is dunzo. Its storefront is empty and for-rent, so it appears to have shuttered a little while ago. So long, chicken and waffles, expensive bottle service, and noise complaints. [Pardon Me For Asking]

3) Midtown: A pair of Midtown bagel shops are shuttering as well. First off is the Times Square Hot Bagel on 44th Street, due to close the Monday after Thanksgiving, along with the apparently-shuttered Vic's Bagel Bar. [Midtown Lunch]

4) Park Slope: The pan-Asian vegan restaurant on Fifth Avenue, Dao Palate, has been shuttered since Sandy hit. The owners tell Here's Park Slope that they've actually just decided to close this location through the winter, though since they plan to reopen in January it seems like they'll still get most of the season.
