Cowgirl Sea Horse Reopens; the Treme Cookbook

FIDI ? South Street Seaport restaurant Cowgirl Sea Horse is reopening tonight with a performance by the bluegrass band The Crusty Gentlemen. Team Sea Horse is still working on the kitchen, but the restaurant will at least be open for drinks. [EaterWire]

PROSPECT HEIGHTS ? The groovy Brooklyn bar Bearded Lady is closing for renovations from November 19 to 26. On Sunday November 18, the bar is running an all-night happy hour and encouraging people to tag the walls. When it reopens, expect some "classy surprises." [EaterWire]

LONG ISLAND CITY ? This weekend, Alewife is hosting a "Curry & IPA Smackdown," which is exactly what it sounds like. All weekend long the bar will have a number of hard-to-find IPAs available, along with a selection of curries available for several two-hour blocks. More information, as well as the chance to donate to the bar's Sandy relief efforts in the Rockaways and Staten Island, is available on Eventbrite. [EaterWire]

BOOK CLUB ? Whatever you think about the show, one thing is for certain: the Treme cookbook is coming. Written in part from the perspective of the HBO show's fictional characters?because of course it is?the book will also will contain recipes chefs that have appeared on the show, including Eric Ripert and David Chang. Head over to Eater National for more details. [Eater National]
