River Cafe Severely Damaged by Hurricane Sandy

Some sad news from Dumbo over the weekend: The Michelin-starred River Cafe won't be in operation again for several months. During Hurricane Sandy, the restaurant on the East River suffered significant damage. As City Room reports, the kitchen and dining room were brutally damaged in the flood caused by Hurricane Sandy. Also, sadly, the wine cellar was severely compromised. Wine Director Joe DeLissio tells the Times: "Anything that was floating in water is destroyed...this is heartbreaking for me."
