FORT GREENE ? The Amateur Gourmet (aka Adam Roberts) has a new cookbook Secrets of the Best Chefs. He'll be at Greenlight Bookstore doing a panel discussion with Amanda Hesser and Barbuto chef/owner Jonathan Waxman to talk about chefs' trucks and secrets. Check out more info here. [EaterWire]

CHELSEA ? René Redzepi of Noma was in town yesterday for the New Yorker Festival. On the dangers of foraging he said: "Of course you don't just eat it without knowing. I'm not encouraging that, because you can actually die. I've done that myself: I've choked, and I've had on-the-spot violent diarrhea. Anything but dying basically." Eater National has the round up of the event's highlights. [Eater National]
