Long-time vegan favorite Whole Earth Bakery and Kitchen on St. Marks is facing eviction. Owner Peter Silvestri, who moved the business from Soho to its East Village location in 1991, tells the Villager that he fell behind on rent after a slow summer. This is not the first time Silvestri has been threatened with eviction, but this time he attributes lack of business with the changing neighborhood, saying, "People come here for the bars now."
