Here's a look around Sirio, the brand new Upper East Side restaurant from industry legend Sirio Maccioni, and his sons Mauro, Marco, and Mario. The restaurant sits in the space inside the Pierre Hotel that formerly housed Le Caprice. The dining room recently received a complete overhaul by Adam Tihany and his crew. The chef, Filippo Gozzoli, worked in several Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant in Italy before coming to the states.
The menu here focusses on the cuisine of Tuscany, where Sirio grew up. In classic Maccioni fashion, the restaurant hosted an opening bash on Wednesday night that was attended by Tonny Bennet, Mayor Bloomberg, Martha Stewart, and other famous people. Sirio is now taking reservations for November 1, but the restaurant is currently open for walk-ins. Take a look around, and do send any early reports our way.
