Gallagher's Steakhouse, the Midtown old-timer that lets diners pick our their preferred piece of meat from a display case, is set to close. Crain's catches a Department of Labor notice filed by the restaurant today to warn employees that they're about to get laid off. The 85-year-old steakhouse will close in mid-January.
In the notice, Gallagher's cites economic reasons for closing, suggesting that they're just not making money anymore. No word on whether or not the locations in Newark, Atlantic City, or Vegas will follow suit.
