Cocktail gurus David Kaplan and Alex Day have officially ended their involvement with ambitious FiDi bar and restaurant Demi Monde. This announcement comes just a few weeks after news broke that the landlord was suing the owners for unpaid rent (Day and Kaplan were never owners, just consultants), and a few months after opening chef Phillip Kirschen-Clark left the project. A statement from Proprietors LLC notes:
Proprietors principals David Kaplan and Alex Day, as well as their entire team, worked tirelessly to create the highest level of cocktail lounge and dining offerings at Demi Monde, and it is with great regret that they have exited the project. No word yet on whether the owners have hired anyone to replace them. In other Demi Monde news: The bar is no longer accepting reservations on OpenTable, and the management instituted new fall hours.
