More big news from long-time Smorgasburg favorite Landhaus. Owner Matthew Lief recently announced that he would be taking over the People's Pop location in Park Slope during the winter, and now comes word that Landhaus will also be opening a full on restaurant inside of The Woods in South Williamsburg.
The new venture is dubbed Landhaus at The Woods, which Lief will be running along with partners Michael Felix and Maria Dela Cruz. Lief tells Eater that having a full kitchen will allow him to expand upon the menu that Landhaus has become popular for at the various Brooklyn Flea events. They will be serving things like wood-grilled heritage pork chops, grass fed cheeseburgers, lobster rolls, and roasted mushroom sandwiches with cheddar cheese sauce, as well as the maple bacon sticks that have made the cart the latest Smorgasburg-to-brick-and-mortar success story.
The Woods had been offering its patrons tacos and other late night munchie food since the bar opened several years ago, but Lief and his team quietly took over the food operations a few weeks ago and have been offering a small version of their menu over the past few weeks. The Woods' owner David Rosen tells Eater: "We are thrilled about our partnership with Landhaus. The Landhaus team is already serving great food from their cart, so we are really excited about the prospect of the full kitchen." Landhaus at The Woods is open Tuesday through Sunday from 6 p.m. until late.
