City Councilman Peter Koo and Community Board 7 are cracking down on the vendors, both legal and illegal, that line the sidewalks of Main Street in Flushing. Main street merchants who sell everything from fruit to sweaters take customers away from local businesses and cause congestion in an already very chaotic area, says Koo. According to the Daily News, Community Board 7 has asked that vending be banned across the board on Main Street. [NYDN]
