Wylie Dufresne to Open New Restaurant in East Village

After nearly 10 years of running the show at his highly influential Lower East Side restaurant wd~50, Wylie Dufresne is gearing up to open his second project. Grub Street learns that soon the chef will debut a "50-seat pub" called Alder in the old Plum Pizzeria space on Second Avenue. A rep notes that the menu will include "modern casual food and well-crafted cocktails." This is obviously a huge win for the East Village. Hopefully, Alder will offer a taste of Wylie's unique food at a more relaxed price point than wd~50.
