Sullivan Street Bakery Starts Secret Dinner Service

New, 4 comments

Three months ago, bread wizard Jim Lahey opened a new location of Sullivan Street Bakery just a few doors up the block from his pizzeria, Co. For the first few months of operation, the menu was identical to the one at the Hell's Kitchen original, but last week, Lahey quietly rolled out dinner service. The options change daily, but right now the kitchen is offering brisket, roasted chicken with turnips (check out the food porn), and a few side dishes, plus beer and wine. A worker at the space explains that dinner is "a mix of counter service and table service."

Andrew Zimmern is already a fan — in an interview over the weekend, the TV host remarked that the brisket was "fantastic." It will be interesting to see how the dinner menu evolves over the next few months, because this food looks unlike anything that Lahey has served before. Do send any early reports our way.
