Earlier this year, Franklin Becker left his post as corporate executive chef of the EMM Group to pursue other projects. When his departure was announced, there were rumors that the chef was scoping out locations for a restaurant of his own. But now Eater learns that Becker is hard at work on two projects: a book and a fast-casual concept.
The book will be called Good Fat, Great Flavor, and it will focus on "the use of healthy fats in your diet." The cookbook will be published by Rodale in Fall 2013. Becker is also developing a multi-unit national QSR concept that will launch early next year. Details are scarce at this point, but Becker tells Eater that he is the chef and partner of this brand new concept. In other Franklin news, Becker cooked at last week's Autism Speaks Chef's Gala, which raised over $1.6 million for the non-profit.
