Trump Street Bar & Grill Replacing Failed Milk Street Cafe

New, 9 comments

Last month, Milk Street Cafe, the 23,000 square foot kosher food hall on Wall Street, shuttered after just six months in business. Before the mega-restaurant closed, owner Marc Epstein complained that it was tanking because of the NYPD barricades that were set up on the block for Occupy Wall Street. Now, a new operator has stepped in who is not afraid of those flimsy police poles: Donald Trump.

The Tribeca Trib reports that the tycoon will open Trump Street Bar & Grill in the space this February with a grill, rotisserie, salad station, and a full bar. At a CB1 meeting, a Trump rep noted: “This time it will not be kosher, which I think might have been part of the problem that Marc had...He was committed to the whole kosher theme.” The Donald, who also owns the building at 40 Wall Street, plans to keep the space pretty much as it is, just with different food options.
