Reps for Michael White announce this morning that the expansion-minded chef is bringing his white hot Soho restaurant Osteria Morini to New Jersey. White's Bernardsville, NJ restaurant Due Terre quietly closed after New Year's Eve service, and after a month of training and "transformation," the restaurant will reopen sometime in February with the Morini menu. It's not the first spot many had in mind for Morini II, but it makes sense given Morini chef Bill Dorrler got his start in the White Empire out there and is still named as their executive chef. Plus, it will require less plane rides than an opening in Vegas or Asia.
Expect more details as the restaurant approaches its reopening.
