First Jose Garces, then Marc Forgione, and now the dashing Alain Allegretti. Reps announce today that chef Allegretti, who recently opened his Chelsea restaurant La Promenade des Anglais, is jumping on the Atlantic City bandwagon and opening a French restaurant in the forthcoming Revel resort and casino.
Azure by Allegretti will focus on the food of the French and Italian Riviera and will feature homemade pastas, grilled whole fish, and a raw bar. The ocean-front space includes an open kitchen, and Allegretti says it will be "very elegant but very casual at the same time," perhaps because it's pretty hard not to be casual when it comes to Atlantic City dining.
Azure joins Marc Forgione's American Cut and Jose Garces' swath of new restaurants at the Revel, which will also include a 38,000 square foot nightclub handled by some Vegas operators, two other clubs, two theaters, and plenty of retail shops. Revel is scheduled to open this spring.
