On Friday, word spread that Prospect Heights favorite Franny's was potentially moving to a much larger space a few blocks down the road in Park Slope and that they would be keeping the original space. And yesterday, The Robs got owner Francine Stephens to pony up the details.
The new space will be, as mentioned, in a former Blockbuster store on 348 Flatbush Ave. near 8th Ave. It will open this November and will feature a private dining room and more ovens. They'll take reservations for parties of six or more for the first time. After the move and a renovation, the original Franny's space will reopen as Marco's in the spring of 2013. Marco's will be an Italian restaurant specializing in fresh pasta and featuring a wood-burning grill and spit rotisserie. As commenters have noted, this is quite a heady time to be a Park Slope food lover.
