Take That Minetta: Wendy's Gets a Black Label Burger

New, 9 comments

Soon Minetta Tavern won't be the only operation in New York selling a premium Black Label Burger. International chain Wendy's has conceived of a black label of its own. But instead of a secret Pat LaFrieda dry aged blend that's bathed in clarified butter on the stovetop and topped with caramelized onions, the chain's burger will come in bacon portabella and guacamole-topped Spicy Sante Fe versions. However, just like the kids at Minetta, Wendy's is breaking out the "premium" beef for this one and they will exceed former price barriers. These patties will go for over $5.

We imagine the legal team over at LaFrieda is sending the chain a cease and desist right this moment.
