Juliet Supper Club has closed for renovations, just days after news broke that the club's landlord is attempting to evict it for allegedly violating the terms of its lease. According to a story in The Real Deal, the landlord is claiming that Juliet is operating as a nightclub, something that is apparently prohibited in the agreement, and also accuses the club's management of allowing “a culture of lawlessness and violence” in the operation. That last bit probably refers to the recent stabbing and shooting incidents inside and directly outside the club that left two people dead, forced the them to cut back hours, and prompted the State Liquor Authority to open an investigation into the operation.

Juliet is fighting the eviction notice, but there are rumors floating around that their staff were emailed last night that the club is closed for good. A Juliet rep says that is not the case and notes that the current renovations were planned for October (normally a busy time in clubs) but were delayed after the shooting incident. Apparently they will open next month, but file this under "believe it when you see it."
