A month ago, trendy Soho Mexican restaurant La Esquina opened a Williamsburg outpost in the home of closed diner Relish. Called Cafe de la Esquina, it opened with a front cafe and back dining room and promised a taqueria and outdoor cafe. Today, the final elements will debut. The self service taqueria is open from noon to midnight and the table service outdoor garden from 6 PM to midnight.
In addition to the normal menu, they're serving raspadas, traditional Mexican shaved ices, created by Pichet Ong and chef Akhtar Nawab. A PDF of the taqueria menu can be downloaded here.
