The Electric Room Staffs Up, Soft Opens Last Night

New, 1 comment

The Electric Room, the tiny lounge buried deep beneath the lobby of the Dream Downtown Hotel, opened for business last night by playing host to the One Model Management's 10th Anniversary afterparty. The Strategic Tao group owned space is smaller and more intimate than all of its other properties, so they brought on downtown nightlife maven Nur Khan to oversee the place. From the look of things, Nur decided to bring a bit of Rose Bar with him to the space as well. They also decided to bring Angelo Bianchi into the fold. The former Beatrice Inn door guru had previously worked with the Strategic Group at Avenue and has been working at the Jane Ballroom while overseeing his Rubirosa pizza joint. But it was announced today that Angelo is the new program director at the Gallery, a new event space at the hotel, and will lend a hand at Ph-D and the Electric Room. A real triple threat.

As we told you in our Fashion Week preview, expect to hear a ton about the Electric Room and other Dream Downtown spaces for the next two weeks, and a full report from inside in the coming days.
