Emma Hearst, owner of Lower East Side Italian restaurant Sorella reports that her restaurant's dining room will be closed until further notice. Why? Late Saturday night, around 2:45 AM by her estimate, someone in the building above her restaurant threw a 40 ounce of Coors Light through the dining room's glass ceiling, shattering a large three by five foot pane of glass. Yes, the dining room has been brought down by a forty, and not even of malt liquor.
The bar room is open however, and to make light of the situation, Hearst is offering a new special: a tall boy beer and an order of broccoli tempura with pickled hot pepper aioli for $10.
