Status: Now Open for Dinner

French chef Alain Allegretti's comeback restaurant La Promenade des Anglais is now open for dinner in Chelsea. This is a much more casual affair than his previous project, Allegretti, but the menu is still focused around the flavors of Nice. The appetizer list includes things like soups, salads, charcuterie, vitello tonnato, and frogs legs Provencal. For entrees, there are a number of pastas ("ratatouille raviolini"), fish dishes, chops, chicken, and a hanger steak with crispy bone marrow. Most of the starters are in the low teens, and the mains are generally in the mid 20s.

The space is bright and comfortable with plenty of murals and mirrors, a row of blue banquettes along one wall, and a table by the kitchen that will eventually be used for special tastings. La Promenade is now open for dinner, with lunch and an all-day bar menu launching Monday, and brunch next weekend. Check out the menu, have a look around the space, and do send any early reports our way.
