The Mexicue Guys Eat Vanessa's at Least Once a Week

New, 1 comment

New York City is home to a lot of restaurants, and among them are hidden gems a lot of New Yorkers just aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's many food luminaries to share with us their under the radar recommendations for Dining Confidential.

2011_09_vanessas1.jpgMexicue Co-Founder Thomas Kelly and his partner Dave Schillace are seduced by Vanessa's cheap dumplings. And with four plump pork and chive dumplings for just $1, who wouldn't be?

"Given we are still very much in “start-up” mode, my partner Dave Schillace and I are constantly in search of delicious, cheap meals. We realized shortly after moving into our new LES kitchen space that we were right around the corner from some incredible Asian restaurants and markets. At least once a week we’re running over to Vanessa’s Dumpling House on Eldridge between Broome and Grand for their Chive and Pork Dumplings. You cannot beat the value of this meal and the dumplings are hard to beat."
