This Sunday will be the last day for The Lot On Tap, the Tom Colicchio-affiliated food truck parking lot/beer garden under The High Line. Too bad really, because as some have noted, the space would be perfect for Octoberfest festivities. The Lot has always been pitched as a seasonal project, but it looks like it probably won't be returning next summer. From the High Line site:
The Lot was always envisioned as a single season amenity to celebrate the new section of the High Line. Following Sunday's closure, we expect the site’s owners, The Related Companies and Abington Properties, will begin preparing the site for future development.Who knows, maybe the future plans will still incorporate food trucks and beer from a Tom Colicchio restaurant, but don't hold your breath on that one. The High Line roller rink will also close after this weekend.
