Elaine's Memorabilia Goes on Auction Today

After they held previews of the offerings all weekend long, auction house Doyle is putting the estate of Elaine Kaufman, owner of storied Upper East Side restaurant Elaine's, up for auction today. The collection includes artwork, books, memorabilia, furniture, decorations, fashion and accessories, most notably Table No. 1 at the restaurant, a signed World Series baseball, artwork by Andy Warhol, and the papier-mâché carousel horse that was in the window for years.
