Maritime Hotel Says Hiro Ballroom And Cabanas Are Available

Following yesterday's rumors that the Eric Goode and Sean Macpherson were in talks with the 1OAK team to take over the Hiro Ballroom and Maritime Hotel Cabanas, a rep from the hotel confirms that the spaces are available but cautions that no deal has been reached with Scott Sartiano, Richie Akiva and Ronnie Madras yet, saying "the current operation of the venues will continue for the foreseeable future." Sartiano also checks in to say "we are actively looking at a LOT of deals in NYC and havent chosen any and currently are just focusing on what we already have and 1 Oak Vegas".

So while a deal hasn't been signed, there is a deal to be had.

As mentioned yesterday, just knowing that there is a deal out there is pretty big news to a lot of operators. Might this be a space that the EMM Group may want to go after to expand their nightlife presence after their recent restaurant binge? Or perhaps the Strategic Group, who control all of the nightlife venues directly next door at the Dream Downtown, may want to take it over as a way to further extend themselves on the block. Maybe the Jimmy folks would like a chance to extend their brand in a new neighborhood or maybe Nur Khan, who has had an up and down year and is about to open the Electric Club next door, is ready to try his hand again at a space that can host live music.

Whoever it may be, it's deal time on 16th Street. The prize are two of the best nightlife spaces in New York City. May the best team win.
