As the Meatball Shop on the Lower East Side expands on its success by opening in new neighborhoods, others want in on the action. Last week, the owners of Fornino opened Polpette next to the pizzeria, meatball spot Zi Pep's Italian is opening next month on East 9th Street, and The Meatball Factory is coming soon to 14th Street.
