Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

2011_san_gennaro_Fest1.jpg1) The Feast of San Gennaro
When: All day Saturday and Sunday
What: The 85th annual street fest runs all weekend in Little Italy. Of course, there are vendors selling old-school junk foods like zeppoles and sausages sandwiches. But this year a team of popular downtown restaurants are also operating two stalls in front of Torrisi Italian Specialties serving their version of gourmet street eats. The offerings include: ribs and nachos from Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone, braciole sandwiches from Rubirosa, gelato from Stellina, frito pie from L'Artusi, squid salad from Frankie's Spuntino, pork-tonnato sandwiches from The Breslin, cheddar falafel from the Little Wisco restaurants, and beef sandwiches from BYGGYZ, which is Dewey Dufresne's forthcoming sandwich shop. Be prepared to wait in line for the fancy stuff.

2011_dumpling_Eater1.jpg2) The NYC Dumpling Festival
Where: Sara D. Roosevelt Park
When: Saturday, Noon - 5 PM
What: An outdoor food fest with dumplings from all around the world. There will also be a dumpling eating contest, where one lucky competitive eater will win $1,000. Admission is free but to try the food you must buy a $20 ticket. All proceeds go to the Food Bank for New York City.

2011_brooklyn_local_tasting_events1.jpg3) The Brooklyn Local
Where: The Tobacco Warehouse
When: Saturday 11 AM - 4 PM
What: City Harvest is hosting a fundraiser tasting event at The Tobacco Warehouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park. It will include an artisanal market with 75 vendors (entrance is $5) and a big tasting tent with restaurants like Ai Di La, No. 7, Roberta's and more. Tickets to the tent are $60. More info here.

2011_taste_the_west_village1.jpg4) Taste the West Village
Where: The Yard at PS 41
When: Sunday, Noon - 4 PM
What: This annual fundraiser for P.S. 41 will include food from: Left Bank, Spasso, Red Farm, The Meatball Shop, Employees Only, BLT Burger, Kin Shop, and more. General admission tickets are $45, and include six tastes. Premium tickets are $100. Check out the event's site for tickets and more info.

2011_taste_williamsburg1.jpg5) Taste Williamsburg Greenpoint
Where: 5 N 11th Street
When: Sunday 1 - 6 PM
What: An outdoor tasting event featuring food and drink from 40 North Brooklyn restaurants, bars, and breweries including: Nitehawk, Maison Premiere, Cafe Colette, and Loreley. Tickets range from $35 for six tastes to $150 for unlimited food and drink. All proceeds go to the Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center.

2011_after_hours_specials1.jpgAlso of Note: Smorgasburg is open today and the New Amsterdam Market will be open tomorrow. For a new restaurant to try, consider Red Farm, Tertulia, or Frankies 570. For late night eats, take a look at Eater's list of NYC's best after-hours specials. And if you're feeling adventurous, perhaps you might enjoy a meal at one of New York's 10 "secret" restaurants.
