Whitehall to Open in Sweetiepie Space in Late October

Brian McGrory, owner of Mary Queen of Scots in the Lower East Side and Highlands in Greenwich Village, writes in to say demolition has begun at Whitehall, the new restaurant he's opening in the old Sweetiepie space on Greenwich Ave. The renderings of the new industrial look are above, and the new projected opening date is now October 24.

Through the demo, they've uncovered some new windows and a skylight, which went unseen by the public when it was Sweetiepie. Meanwhile, that fantastic bird cage is long gone, and strangely enough, someone bought the bright pink leather banquets.
