The San Gennaro Festival kicks off in Little Italy tonight with full-on gourmet food offerings from some of New York's hottest chefs and restaurants. Torrisi got the ball rolling last year with their wok-fried mozzarella sticks, and this year Rich and Mario will be joined by the teams from Rubirosa (serving braciole sandwiches), L'Artusi (tacos), Frankie's Spuntino (grilled calamari), The Breslin (pork-tonnato sandwiches), Stellina (ice cream), and Gabe Stulman's establishments (Cheddar falafel and cheese nips). Wylie Dufresne's dad Dewey will also be there, serving up sandwiches from his forthcoming shop.
The two booths are directly in front of Torrisi at 250 Mulberry Street, and they'll also be selling a commemorative "Beast of the Feast" t-shirt (a must-have for any real restaurant nerd). The fest kicks off tonight at 5 PM.
