Takashi Inoue Adores Han Joo Chik Naeng Myun & BBQ

New York City is home to a lot of restaurants, and among that number are hidden gems the majority of New Yorkers just aren't unearthing. To help guide us to them, we've enlisted some of our city's many food luminaries to share with us their under the radar recommendations for Dining Confidential.

Takashi Inoue, the chef and owner of Takashi, chooses his top two favorite Korean spots in Flushing.

“Venturing out to Flushing for a meal at Han Joo Chik Naeng Myun & BBQ always reminds me of the food my family enjoyed on special occasions. Since my family is of Korean descent, they would recognize and appreciate some of my favorite dishes on the menu, like the duck BBQ and the pork combo BBQ, which has 7 or 8 different cuts of pork. The melt-in-your mouth fattiness of the duck and pork is pure heaven. And I always get a cold noodle soup on the side- so good on a hot day! If this place is too crowded, at least I’m in the right neighborhood. Not too far there is a place called Tong Sam Gyup Goo Ee Korean Restaurant, which has also 3-day miso-marinated thick pork belly BBQ, and a yummy super spicy squid”
